  • Charis Harding  |  Tourism & Member Services

Originally born in South Dakota, my family picked up and moved to Canon in 1985.  My father and mother researched over a 100 towns in a certain climate zone, before settling on Canon City!  Starting a new chapter in life, my parents opened a small business in the Canon City downtown area.  Here I learned some of the valuable lessons of business.  After graduating High School, I moved to the Denver Metro area where I raised my kids.  During this time I acquired my Bachelor’s in Business Management and started my Associates in Accounting.  I came back home in 2015, where I recently finished my Associates in Accounting and started working at the Chamber.  So now, like my parents did 30 years ago, I am starting a new chapter in my life.  Welcome to Fremont County!

  • Joanne Carl  |  Volunteer Coordinator

I am a Michigan transplant who has been in Colorado for 40 years.  In my first life, I was a school library/media specialist.  A career I enjoyed for 34 years.  Since my retirement, I have worked at the Royal Gorge Route Railroad, Echo Canyon River Expeditions and the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park.  Now, in addition to serving as the volunteer coordinator for the Chamber of Commerce, I work in the Visitors Cabin during the summer, organize Entertainment in the Park, fill in at the Chamber Office and work on other projects as needed.  I am an avid reader and love to travel.  I love my job(s) here at the Chamber.  I get to meet wonderful (and interesting) people from all over the world.  It’s the BEST job I’ve ever had!
