Prospectors

What is a Prospector?

A Prospector is a member of the Cañon City Chamber of Commerce or an employee of a business that is a member of the Chamber. They are dedicated, fun loving and community oriented. They are the ambassadors for the Chamber.

They organize, provide drinks and staff "Business After Hours" each month. This is a service that provides a relaxed atmosphere for the members of the Chamber to network and interact with each other. "Business After Hours" are held at a different host business the second Thursday of each month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The hosts are selected by a committee. The candidate(s) must be a member of the Chamber for a minimum of one year. Each host is honored with a plaque and an opportunity for a news story and photo of the presentation in the local newspaper(s).

The Prospectors also select and honor the Business of the Year at the annual membership banquet.

The Prospectors promote and participate in Grand Openings, Grand Re-Openings and Ribbon Cuttings for businesses who are members of the Chamber This also gives a business the opportunity for a news story and photo of the event in the local newspaper(s).

The Prospectors also provide other help and service to the community via the Chamber.
