We encourage visitors to take a trip down “Memory Lane,” our 20-bed Secure Unit for Alzheimer’s and Dementia residents. There is an outside Gazebo area for our residents to walk around and visit with family and/or other residents.
We also offer both private pay and Medicaid respite care and also, Hospice care (working along side Sangre de Cristo Hospice).
Some of the amenities we offer here are: an on-site beauty and barber shop, fun-filled activities, an on-site chapel with services throughout the week, a huge parlor area where our families and residents like to come and visit as well as listen to multiple music acts throughout the week, and a bird aviary.
On November 1, 2005, we started our Culture Change program. This includes five meals a day: Continental Breakfast from 7-9am, Brunch from 10:30-12pm, Siesta Snack at 1:30pm, Dinner from 4-5pm, and Nightcap Snack at 6:30pm. There are bread machines throughout the facility which provide the aroma of fresh bread to whet anyone’s appetite. We also offer flexible hours of arising - giving the resident the choice of their wake-up time. Individualized medication passes to fit the resident’s schedule and choice. Person-centered activities on their individual interests and choices. We promote sleep, nourishment and meaningful activity while eliciting resident feedback and promoting choice.
